Here's another example of the Spanish traditions merged with the local customs. On top of each house in the highlands is a cross that is put up when the priest comes and blesses the house. Later, after the priest leaves, they add the two traditional ceramic bulls to protect the house, and pour chicha (homemade beer) on the ground as an offering to Pacha Mama, the god of the earth.
