We are now in Ecuador. Some shots from the bus on the way from Quito
to Otovalo.
Note the creative use of farmland up the hills.
On the streets of the Otovalo market.
In the food market, you can get chickens...
beef...
grains...
pick up a bite for lunch...
Here is our Ecuador tour guide, Gabriel (in the orange hat), with a spice
stall in the foreground.
The people really do dress this way.
On the way back, we gave a lift to these three girls in exchange for
them singing us a few local songs.
Then we went to lunch at the home of a local family. Here, fresh from
the oven, are some chickens and some cuy. The guinea pig is highlighted
in blue.
The kitchen, with all of the modern amenities.
The dining hall. Don't let the weaved wall coverings fool you; it is
an adobe hut. Even the stage is just adobe.
Kimberly sampling the local corn.
Then a little music with lunch.
The girls of the family were our servers, and later part of the entertainment.
Wade and Kimberly try to work off some of their lunch.
