We look too happy in this picture, since we are back in Bloomington for
the funeral service for Kimberly's father Frank. Here is Colton, Kimberly,
and Edna.
The service was held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. They said it was
going to be in the mausoleum, and we were concerned about what that would
look like, but it is really a pretty building.
Inside during the viewing. Wade is trying to be discreet and not show
Frank.
Edna had hired in Reverend David from a local church, on the recommendation
of the funeral home. He turned out to give a real nice service, not too
full of bible-thumping. It included a lovely a metaphor about life being
like a good cup of coffee, and our various physical forms are the cups,
but the real point is the coffee, the life itself.
On to the burial site. We had feared for rain, so the tarp is set up,
but the weather held for the day.
Reverend David at the graveside.
The family and friends.
Back at home, Edna has a plethora of flowers.
Some from Wade and Kimberly's church choir.
No trip back to Bloomington is complete without some racquetball at the
new LA Fitness. This one was strange in that there was a fire drill and
evacuation. Wade and Kimberly had to grab their stuff and run to the car,
or we would be stuck there waiting for the "all clear" to get
our stuff.
