Day 1 was just
a travel day from LAX to Dallas, a quick dinner in DFW, and an overnight
flight to Frankfurt. We are waiting at the Trefpünkt (meeting point)
for our shuttle to the hotel.
A little walking around town. Who knew Woolworth was still in business,
especially in Frankfurt?
Trying to find a likely place to get a little lunch.
We ate inside, but everyone likes to eat outside here, so the doors and
windows are all open as long as it is a nice day.
A quick bus tour around the city. Frankfurt is the financial capital
of Germany. This is the new European Bank Building being constructed.
Just a random shot from the bus showing the old and the new.
Our tour guide, Noel, explaining about this building. This building has
a relief of JFK on the back side with the oddest haircut.
The Römerplatz square.
Hans and Darrolyn. OK so far, the jet lag hasn't kicked in yet.
Of course this was all rebuilt after the war.
The full name of Frankfurt is Frankfurt am Main; this is the river Main.
