In Kauai on the way to see some falls, we stopped at a rest stop on the saddle road. Mauna Loa is the mountain in the background.
This is the majestic "rainbow falls", or at least it would be if there wasn't a drought going on. Can you find the trickle of water? I still think they ran a hose back there so the falls would at least have a little water.
We lunched on a plantation in this little hut that overlooks the falls.
Then we went for a little walk. We are crossing a stream 80 feet below. The pipeline is part of the hydroelectric dam system.
These chickens are everywhere, as "natural fertilizer and pest control".
