We arrive in Catania, and are immediately shuttled off to the Hotel Ariston
in Taormina. The hotel is very close to the city center, an easy walk.
The views from our hotel room balcony, to the left...
...straight out...
...and to the right.
We had free time in the afternoon, as they were expecting everyone to
be jet-lagged. We were already sync'ed up with the time, from having been
in Naples. Wandering around, we stopped for lunch in this little trattoria.
You can take this cable car down to the water.
This is a shot back up to the first tower. The window is filthy, so you
can't see very well.
From our balcony at night, the full moon reflecting off of the Mediterranean.
Out for our "welcome dinner" with the group. What's the Italian
word for "Mariachi Band"? On this trip, we heard so many versions
of "Volare", "O Sole Mio", "Torno a Sorriento",
and for some reason, "New York, New York".
Just another night shot of the city lights.
