The second part of the optional excursion was a trip two-thirds of the
way up Mt. Etna. It's not extremely visible, but this is the best shot
I got of the fumerole of gas escaping from the top and moving to the right.
Even two-thirds of the way up, we are above cloud level.
The area is used for skiing when it snows. The chair lifts are in the
background.
You cannot visit the main crater, but there are plenty of smaller craters
and vent holes in easy walking distance.
