We got a great deal on the Celebrity Cruise in April. They only come
around once a year for the weekend cruise. It is a shame we didn't get
to go with our normal MTI group, but they all went earlier, and we had
a show and had to cancel out.
We took off from San Diego. Here are a couple of aircraft carriers across
from us, and we texted Scott to see if he was on one of them. I guess
we need to go find the number of U.S.S. Carl Vinson.
For our anniversary, we went to the Murano, the ship's premium restaurant,
on our first night. This is a wonderful bottle of wine that Hans and Darrolyn
gave us five years ago on our anniversary, with instructions to hold it
until 2013.
We should have taken more pictures of the food, but the service was excellent.
This is the headwaiter doing a tableside preparation of Kimberly's dessert...
...which was ice cream wrapped in a crepe, and served with strawberries
in a flambe sauce.
Wade is more of a chocolate dessert guy than a fruit dessert guy.
We didn't take many pictures in the ports, because we really didn't do
much in any of the ports. Right off the ship in Santa Barbara, we ran
into this. We were both surprised; I didn't think Sambo's restaurant existed
any more due to political correctness.
A shot of the ship back across the beach in Santa Barbara. Perfect day
for sailing or for walking about town. We mainly just browsed up and back
State Street.
The next day was Avalon. Here's Kimberly with a statue, that she was
trying to say was almost as white as Wade.
To kill a little time in Avalon, we played some miniature golf.
I'm too sexy for my clubs, too sexy for my clubs...
Not that we are competitive in any way, but Wade just skunked Kimberly.
This statue on the ship reminded us of Mark.
