Arriving at the Hiroshima memorial park and seeing the Atomic Bomb Dome.
It is raining pretty heavy, so we don't go around the park area much.
We didn't take many pictures as we went through the inside displays and history.
Moving on from Hiroshima, we stop for lunch at a seaside hotel.
These are oyster beds in the bay behind the hotel.
Our lunch today is another bento box.
We then head for a ferry ride to Miyajima Island.
The Torii gate in the water at the entrance.
Another view of the Torii gate.
Making our way through the ferry terminal, and following our guide for the day.
It is a quaint little island, not unlike Catalina.
Walking along the streets of the small town and trying to keep out of the sun.
Another gate, heading in to the Itukushima Shrine.
We pose for a picture with the iconic gate.
This vermillion color is reserved for royalty.
A view from one raised building to another, showing the flood plain between.
A statue in the foreground, and the main pagoda in the background.
One of the prayer halls.
Prayers written on paper and wood.
The island also has a lot of deer running around.
Here's Kimberly trying to make nice with one of them.
Some mascot of the island?
