Last Christmas, we gave the Orange Food Walking Tour to the fire pit group as a present, and later
invited Pattie and Fred along, and it took this long to get us all scheduled. It turned out to be
a perfect day for it, though, sunny but not too hot. Our guide starts with some orientation.
First stop: Francoli Italian restaurant.
The place had a wonderful old world vibe to it.
Wade with some of our other tour members, when the table arrangement didn't quite work out.
They served us a glass of wine with a delicious fresh Caprese salad appetizer...
...followed by a small serving of some penne pasta with pesto. Very yummy.
Practically next door is the Felix Cafe, a Cuban restaurant that Kimberly and Wade went to a long
time ago.
They served us a beef empenanda with some fresh salsa, and a fried plantain.
Across the street to "Paris in a Cup", a tea house...
...that served us a flavored tea along with a vanilla jumbo macaron.
We stopped for a history lesson under the big orange tree in the center of the square...
...and had someone take a group photo of us.
More history about the "ugly" fountain, and on to the north side of the square.
Next stop: Provisions Deli and Bottle Shop.
They served us a delicious avocado bread that had capers and pickled onions on it. We are going to
steal this for the next cooking party.
They are most known as a craft beer house, so everyone had a shot of beer...
...except Wade, who opted for the vanilla cream soda.
A little dessert from a place called "The Pie Hole".
They specialize in these little "pie holes" (think donut holes).
Kimberly has bitten into her apple pie, and Wade's Mexican chocolate pie is on the counter.
On to Zito's pizza, which is supposedly a staple of the Chapman University students.
Kimberly and Wade relaxing on the patio.
We split a Margherita pizza, which normally would be kind of boring...
...but theirs was quite flavorful, including a salty hard cheese on top for texture and flavor.
Last stop was the Citrus City Grille.
They started us off with a focaccia with some dipping sauce full of herbs.
Thy fish chowder was only so-so, but they also served a beef flatbread that was tastier.
Wade then dragged everyone over to Go VR Gaming at the Anaheim Garden Walk, to give everyone
a taste of VR. Karyn getting suited up...
...and using her bow and arrow to defend the town.
Pattie trying it out.
Kimberly using the Space Pirate Trainer.
Short ten-second videos: Pattie using the bow and arrow.
Karyn playing Beat Saber, slashing to the music.
Fred getting used to the Space Pirate Trainer.
Hans in a virtual Drunken Bar Fight simulator; one of the more tiring games to play.
Fred joining in the Drunken Bar Fight.
Hans on Beat Saber.
Kimberly on the Space Pirate Trainer.
