Shots in a field of lupin where we stopped the coach.
Down the road a piece, a little stone church.
In Christchurch itself, we went to the large cathedral where they were
conducting choir practice.
We only had one night at Christchurch. The tour company makes arragements
for the tour members to be paired up in small groups and we go to have
homemade dinners with host families from the area. Our host family is
Tom and Beth. They run a ten acre farm and the lamb and all of the vegetables
except one were raised by them. Here's Beth giving lessons on how to make
a pavlova, the traditional New Zealand dessert.
Tom is on the left, and the other tour couple that went to this house
with us are Brian and Kerry.
Tom and Beth also have a Japanese exchange student living with them to
learn English.
Driving around a bit, this is the Sign of the Peacock restaurant.
