After going back and forth with Wade's Mom in the hospital for a few
weeks, we decided to go back and visit. At the time, it looked like she
wasn't going to pull through, and may not even regain consciousness. But
after removing her from the CPAP and the corresponding sedation, she surprised
everyone and woke up and complained about being hungry.
We actually got to visit with her for a few days before coming back home.
Here is us all watching Monday night wrestling.
We had time to socialize and visit; Craig and Ordi came at the same time.
Kimberly trying to keep cool and continue to work on our show while we
were visiting.
Dad trying to cook and clean out the kitchen at the same time. "Here's
some wine if you want some." Can you tell from the shape of the bottle
that this is Mogan David wine? It probably dates from around 1997.
Dad's very good friend Ernie Pollack. Ernie was a great support to Dad
through this ordeal, even though his house burned down the night we got
there. Everyone should be blessed to have a friend that will make you
deal with the stuff you don't want to deal with, and do it in such a loving
manner.
Well, to make a long story short, Mom pulled through and put on a brave
face until we left. She passed away a week later, unfortunately on the
same day Kimberly and I were heading to Germany. Craig went back for the
viewing. Here are a few pictures to remember her by.
1959: With Craig and a 3-month-old Wade at Christmas.
1969 in the back yard in Santa Ana with Earl.
1972: Dad always had a pickup truck, usually a Ford.
1983: Dad is driving the school bus in Paragould.
1989: One of my visits back to Paragould.
1998: A family picture one of the last times they came out to California
to visit.
