Day 4: Troy, Çanakkale

We drive off toward Troy. We stop for lunch at a little cafe on the Marmara Sea while we wait for the ferry.
Stopping to see the Trojan Horse that was built for the recent Brad Pitt movie.
The construction is to rebuild the replica that is in the city of Troy.
Kimberly excited to be at the East Wall in actual Troy.
The ruins are quite vast...
...if not completely restored.
Great white archeologist.
They have these walkways to keep people from damaging the ruins any further.
The original walls were covered to keep them from the elements.
The ramp up to the main gates of the upper city.
Kimberly in front of the Temple of Athena.
A theater where proclamations of the day were made.
A street of shops.
We happened to get a suite that night by chance, with these great views.
The living room...
...and the bedroom, with one of the few king-size beds we saw, ...
...and a luxurious bathroom, even if it only has a half-door shower.
We went for a walk along the waterfront...
...and found this weird bubble that they evidently use for protection from the winter winds.
